Baby Naming

Blessed is one who comes in the name of love.
Create a unique, joyous and graceful gathering on behalf of the child you are welcoming into your home and lives.

A baby naming ceremony provides opportunity for the parents of the new baby to explain their choice of name and its significance to them, to share in the joy, break bread and make a Kiddush as well as other blessings to acknowledging that the child has been entered into a covenant, with God.
"Rabbi Melinda is a gem and we are so glad we found her!! She led our son's Brit Shalom ceremony last weekend at Birch Park. Weeks before the ceremony, we met on zoom to discuss our interests and then she wrote up a script for the event. We were in awe of how perfect the script was -- she had listened to exactly what we wanted and created something so beautiful and meaningful for us. On the day of the event, Melinda made our day so special, and all of our guests were telling us how amazing she was. It was clear that she really cared about us and she even took time to hold and connect with the baby and give him well wishes. Would highly recommend inviting Rabbi Melinda to be part of your lifecycle event." Meredith Marin, Founder of Vegan Hospitality
"We were delighted to have Rabbi Melinda officiate our son's brit shalom. It was a small gathering amid the pandemic, along with a few people who joined us virtually. We wrapped our little one in his grandfather's Tallis and our marital cords of love. Rabbi Melinda made it so easy and relaxed. She worked with us in welcoming our son into his covenant, just the way we wanted." Manon & Daniel
My feeling on Circumcision: Choose what you feel is best! Thirty plus years ago I had a son. As a parent connected to both Jewish belief and personal choice, I have no regrets to have had him circumcised! As to these times, thinking has evolved and there is deeper awareness of the ritual and process to consider.  If you're unsure, I am here to help you discover the best choice for your son. Ceremony honorariums upon request.
