The Power of the Soul: Lessons on Grief, Recovery and What Comes Next
Grief is a powerful emotion that touches us all at some point in our lives, but very few of us have the tools to process these feelings. As a grief counselor and life coach, as well as through my personal experiences with loss, I have learned that mourning isn’t just associated with death. We grieve over the loss of a relationship, a job, or the end of a phase of life.
I spoke with Margaret Manning of lifeafterdeath.com on several aspects of grief, including the loss of a loved one, and the recovery that follows.
Life After Death – 3 Powerful Lessons About Grief and Recovery
Grief over any loss is not just emotional turmoil. It is a full-body experience that affects our mental and physical health, too. While we are mourning, it is easy for us to shut down and ignore what our minds and bodies are telling us. The harsh effects of grief can harm our overall health, but we always reach a breaking point to where we must move on with our lives.
Mentally, we can feel survivor’s guilt after watching the death of a loved one. Even after they die, we will feel conflicted over wanting to keep our friends and family on Earth when it is their time to go. This mental anguish can affect our physical bodies, and we may develop illnesses or conditions we didn’t have before.

7 Steps to Deal with Grief of Any Kind (Including a Death in the Family)
Throughout our lives, we encounter grief in many different places. Although it is most common when someone close to us dies, we grieve over any loss. Whether we lose a job or a relationship – or our lives change irrevocably – our hearts and souls still mourn over the end of a phase. Through my service as a life coach, I developed the ROADMAP, a seven-step program to help others move forward with their lives.
Using the ROADMAP, you take the steps necessary to envision your new life after a significant shift in your circumstances. By taking responsibility for your own actions, facing your reality, and setting goals for yourself, you can open yourself up to the change that will result. After you are finished mourning your loss, new opportunities will come to you and completely change your life for the better.

Exploring the Jewish Perspective on the Afterlife (Life after Death in Judaism)
Judaism has a significant approach to death and the afterlife that emphasizes the peace and evolution of the soul. In Judaism, we believe that the soul is eternal, and death is only part of the story. The goal of each soul is to live a good life according to the laws of the Torah, and it is continuously evolving and learning these lessons.
Our souls live many lives through reincarnation to achieve its primary goal of peace in the afterlife. By living many lives, the soul attains crucial knowledge in following God’s laws. When a loved one passes, prayer and ritual also play a part in helping the spirit reach peace in Heaven. Those left behind mourn for the dead, pray for their soul, and honor their loved ones and their ancestors daily.
